You've done your interview prep. You've researched the company, polished your answers and gone over your CV. You think you're ready to smash that interview.
But are you ready? Have you thought carefully about what YOU will ask your interviewer? It can make all the difference between you landing your dream job or not.
It's useful to ask questions that don't just seem like the right thing to say, but rather are useful for both you and your potential employer. If you don't ask, you won't know and will look like you don't care about the company or the role.
Here's three excellent questions you could ask in your next interview:
1. What do the most successful new hires do in their first month here?
You learn about what will be expected of you and the typical workload. It sends the message you really want to work there as you are imagining yourself in that role and what you could do in your first month.
2. What are some of the challenges or roadblocks one might come up against in this role?
This lets you understand the job role as whole, not just the positives. Employers could see this be as a hard-working trait.
3.. Why did you decide to work at this company?
You gain an insight into how employees feel about the company and whether this would suit you or not. It also makes it personal, builds a connection.

"Do you have any questions for me?" We've all been on the receiving end of that question in an interview. If you're prepared, you've probably got some good questions you usually cycle through. But we want to be better than "good" in an interview. We want to be standout candidates that hiring managers are excited to extend an offer to. One thing you can do to separate yourself from other applicants? Ask good questions.
