By 2020 it is expected the NHS will be 'digital and paperless'. One step towards this is to have free wi-fi in all NHS buildings as suggested by Jeremy Hunt.
This is fantastic news for patients and staff, allowing them to access the services they need, which will aim to improve services and reduce costs.
One major concern will be the wi-fi security. Especially in light of all the recent cyber-attacks and hacks. Patient records, including e-prescriptions, are extremely sensitive data, so a big emphasis on security will be essential to the free wi-fi service. Will they be able to deliver?
Everyone using the NHS expects it to be a world leader in digital healthcare and free wi-fi is an essential part of making that a reality
